Barnes And Noble's New Nook Wireless Portable Reading Device Confronts Amazon.Com's Digital Ebook Reader

The up-to-the-minute Nook wireless ebook reader being produced by B&N, the worlds prevalent book shop with above 1,300 branches, seems set to lock horns with the worlds #1 selling ebook reader device, the Kindle.

Though not long launched, the Nook electronic book readers are searching to ruffle Amazon.com's feathers even more by taking it on openly in a sector of the market, that up to yet, the Amazon Kindle has dominated. Since it's unveiling, to start with as the Amazon kindle then later on in February 2009 as the Kindle2 , it has re-ignited the ebook reader device market place by offering a mix of radical specification, due to it's direct connect wherever wireless broadband and also the biggest choice of titles available for download at tremendous, cheaper than the high street, price.

No doubt after going through ebook reader reviews, customers brought in to the concept in a large way and it is just recently that the rest of the industry have woken up to the statement that this is the future of book buying. An so in the most recent few months we have had the announcement from Sony of their intent to enlist in the fun, with their shortly to be launched Daily Edition, and the most recent press release from Barnes and Noble that their own candidate, the Nook, will return to complete production very quickly.

There are no qualms that the Kindle2 is the model everyone is gunning for. And to be candid it's pleasant to see a little opposition in this market. Yes we have had the iRex iLiad but the ebook readers reviews disliked it because it was some what on the hefty side to be a wireless portable reading device, wonderful for office use with the 1:1 A4 facsimile, but much like the KindleDX - another wireless ebook reader - not something you would desire to take on holiday, or put in your bag or pocket for that matter, and it was in no way going to vie on cost was it?

So now we have 2 big companies keen to go head to head, with the strength of Amazon.com, on all fronts. The book reader arm of sony of late increased the size of their collection at the Sony-Store and discounted the costs of their digitally shipped books to match that of Amazons and hopefully B&N, who have continuously been in the matching ballpark affordability wise, will equal them title for title additionally.

Now the main news broadcast for clients has to be the move away from proprietary file formats utilized by Sony in the early days and even now utilized by the Kindle now. To clarify the situation I will use Kindle as an illustration, remember this is even now the situation with the Kindle so it makes it crystal clear.
