You need to also stay hydrated, but do not drink so much that you'll have to waste valuable time in the bathroom. If you must have your daily cup of tea or coffee, keep it to a minimum. The different shoppers in line may not save you a spot and may be upset in case you bother to ask. Try having a drink that contains electrolytes like Gatorade or Crystal Light.
It's also a good idea to pack a snack in your pocket or purse for later. Try a granola bar, crackers with peanut butter and even fruit. An apple or banana is perfect. This could come in handy in the event you get the munchies later on.
